It does not cry scandal any more. As it often happens, social phenomena spread fast and broadly. Elite groups are often the ones to start with breaking social norms, either as a result of genuine feelings or for sheer ostentation, and we know very well how deeply obsessed with fame and visibility our society is. The list of couples made by a mature woman and a much younger man is constantly growing and, among the most famous starters of such trend is undoubtedly her, Madonna who, after Brazilian Jesus Luz, is now engaged to Brahim Zaibat. Once the moralistic wall has been cracked, the couple is photographed in a variety of scenarios.

Robin Wright and Naomi Watts sleep with eachother's sons in "Adore. Filmmaker Adrian Lyne made a name for himself with reactionary films that reveled in illicit sex, then made their protagonists pay unduly for their crimes. Much like the Cecil B. Roz and Lil are both uncomfortable with this arrangement, but their friendship proves more powerful. Meanwhile, the boys, jilted by each, try for real adult relationships.
Fortunately for them, the young men feel similarly. At times their lushly allegorical approach every sun-dappled image could be a postcard from utopia seems ridiculous, while the initial seductions—one genuine; one done, at first, out of spite—have a leeringly campy quality. But the film markedly improves once Hampton introduces the first of several narrative ellipses that push the story further into the realm of adult fable.
